Here at The Rockin’ Boys Club, we think there are many ways our kids can make a difference in our communities, states, countries and even the WORLD! We want to recognize some of these amazing boys who are doing just that. In our “Boys Who Rock the World” series, we feature boys who devote their time to service and leaving their thumbprint of good works in our communities.

Meet Dylan, he devotes his time to saving the animals. Last year Dylan’s birthday wish was to raise money for the tiger’s new home at the San Diego Zoo’s Safari Park. His goal was to raise $1,000 and he was able to surpass that. He will now get to have name displayed on a plaque at entrance of Tiger Trail.  He couldn’t be happier.

This was just the first accomplishment in Dylan’s quest to save the animals. Dylan has been bit by the philanthropy bug and is determined to continue saving animal wildlife. He considers himself a Wildlife Conservationist and wants to devote his life to doing so.

A few months ago he started a new challenge when he was asked to be part of a test group for the new “I ___ for Wildlife” program. He pledged to read 1500 pages of animal facts in 100 days and got people to sponsor him. He was able to raise $500 for wildlife in just 3 months. He also continually participates in programs such as Cans for Critters and Animal Adoptions.

Dylan recently received a letter informing him that the San Diego Zoo was building a new home for the critically endangered Amur Leopards and Snow Leopards, he decided that this would be his next challenge. He now wants to raise $1,000 for the leopards. But instead of just asking people for money, he has gotten creative. Dylan will be hosting his very own 2-day camp called “Dylan’s Animal Adventure Camp” where he will teach other kids about endangered animals, conservation, and most importantly how easy it is to make a difference. He will be able to donating over 90% of the camp proceeds directly to helping build a new home for the Amur Leopards and Snow Leopards.

If you live in Southern California, your children can even attend Dylan’s camp. Click here for more information. And if you live out of the area and can’t join him, he will have something special on his blog after the camp, so follow along.

The Rockin’ Boys Club, Dylan’s family, friends and the San Diego Zoo are very proud of Dylan in his many accomplishments. But we are not the only ones. He has been recognized in his community and well as by The White House when he received the President’s Volunteer Service Award.

Good job Dylan! Thanks for being a great example to everyone, and showing us that even a young person can make a difference in the world. Keep up the great work.

If you have, or know a Rockin’ boy who is doing some amazing act of service, we’d love to feature them. Please email us, and we will coordinate a feature post.
