When a life-sized Star Wars X-wing Fighter made of Legos was revealed in times Square earlier this year, my boys were amazed. They wished they could be in New York to see it in person. Luckily, there dreams were able to come true, because the enormous X-wing fighter made it’s way to Legoland Resort in Carlsbad. And I was able to take them to see it last week.

Wow! They were really amazed. Being able to see the largest Lego set ever was a real treat, and the fact that is was a Star Wars Lego set made it that much more exciting. It contains 5,335,200 pieces and weighs 45,980 lbs, in person it is really an amazing sight. The X-wing is 11 feet tall, stretches 43 feet long, has a wingspan of 44 feet, and took 32 Lego Brickmasters 4 months to build it.

It was fun to see the boys faces when they walked up to it. You could tell they were imagining themselves flying it in a Star Wars battle. The details were perfect, it is a one-to-one replica of original LEGO Star Wars set #9493.

This life-sized Star Wars X-wing Fighter model made of Legos will be at Legoland Resort in California until the end of the year, and then it will be off to a land far far away. We will be sad when it leaves. You can read more about it here.
