A few weeks ago we told you to be on the lookout for ‘Disney’s Planes’, and mentioned that Dane Cook would be voicing the lead role of Dusty. Well, the ‘Disney’s Planes’ voice cast was announced finally! Alongside Dane Cook, you’ll find these great actors and actresses – many of whom you’ll recognize.
Stacy Keach plays Skipper, who is Dusty’s mentor of sorts. His experience as a Navy Corsair comes in handy to help bring Dusty’s training to new heights. Everybody loves Brad Garrett! He plays Chug, a fuel truck and Dusty’s friend, coach, and biggest fan.
Julia Louis-Dreyfus lends her confidence to Rochelle, a tough racing plane from The Great White North, and Teri Hatcher plays Dottie, a no-nonsense mechanic.
Carlos Alazraqui plays El Chupacabra, a charming racer with a penchant for drama and flair. The always hilarious John Cleese plays Bulldog, the oldest and wisest of all the racers.
Priyanka Chopra plays the exotic Ishani, a little mysterious and maybe a bit ruthless too, she’s the reigning Pan-Asian champion. Ripslinger is a big-shot world champion, one of the biggest names in racing. Not at all modest, he’s played by Roger Craig Smith.
ESPN personality Colin Cowherd uses his expertise to play Colin Cowling, a reporter for the Racing Sports Network. Leadbottom is a grouchy bi-plane who isn’t interested in Dusty’s dreams and aspirations. He’s voiced by Cedric the Entertainer. The witty Sinbad plays Roper, the cantankerous race official.
There’s a couple of colorful twosomes, as well! Ned & Zed are a couple of not-too-bright thugs employed by Ripslinger. Bravo & Echo might actually be my favorite additions to the cast, played by Val Kilmer and Anthony Edwards in a mini Top Gun reunion.
Not pictured, Oliver Kalkofe is the voice of the meek German minicar Franz and his brazen airborne alter ego Fliegenhosen, and Brent Musburger use his sportscaster skills to bring Brent Mustangburger, to the big screen.
Doesn’t the ‘Disney’s Planes’ cast look awesome? I’m not sure who’s more excited to see it – me or my boys! It’s flying into theaters on August 9th, 2013.
